Ask me a question Do you have a feces fetish? As in, do you take a dump at home, put it in a ziplock bag and drop it in the toilet at the lab? And hope other men are curious about it? Ask me a question Essentially, doing crispr on a live organism is tough, because if off target effects. Crispr will make a mistake and insert the sequence in the wrong spot occasionally. However for shit like a fetus or a virus (which you discard if it errors) you can literally do whatever you want. |

Ask me a question CRISPR will be how we ultimately cure this. Not a vaccine lol. We will have to remove this viral dna that the virus implants. So that means solving crispr off target effects right now Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73863967 What do you mean "off target effects"? You never change things by fighting the existing reality. Off target effects means it takes out the wrong gene and you probably die immediately. Haven't been privty to that experiment yet but I can imagine. That's why say I virus, crispr could screw up 99% of the experiments but you just keep the one it did right. |

Ask me a question Yes, this is a bioweapon. Look up CRISPR gene editing. Came out 2014. If you can do literally any biology lab procedure, you can perform crispr. I work with human genomes, that is where it gets complicated. Engineering a virus like this would be super easy if you had the money and any kind of a team. What else do you wanna know?
