It was 2010 or 2011 and I had just seen U2 in concert. U2 was my favorite band as a kid in the 80s (Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum era—they lost me with Achtung Baby for some reason). I went to the show not because I loved them but because I knew I’d want to see my favorite childhood band while they were still close enough to their prime to be good. The album they were touring for was the mostly-forgettable “No Line on the Horizon.” I bought the album before the show so that I would know the songs. They closed the show with a song from “No Line” called “The Moment of Surrender.” I listened to the song quite a bit for the next couple of weeks after the show. The song has a line where he says he was “kneeling at the alter of the dark star.” So I Googled the line and up popped five GLP threads about Niburu. Once I found the place, I’ve never really left. Good times. |
