What was most unsettling to me personally was to hear that it's impacting people in their 30s and 40s too - not just older people as is commonly claimed.

The majority of people in Italy are old. 80% of the deaths were people over 60. Lot's of people in Italy smoke.

I believe it. I've heard as much myself from various haunts here and there since the lockdown in Italy. It's bad there, just as you say.

And there was the post from the nurse yesterday begging the West to wake up, they all thought it was just the flu and were joking about it the very day before their ICUs started filling up. Then melting down the very next day.

The Pope literally declared that is ministers or whatever the Catholics call those dudes, go out in the streets to comfort and offer last rites to the dying. To expose themselves to the risk of the virus since...well...you only get one last rite.

It's happening there as you say, no hyperbole I believe that.

My life has been totally destroyed over the course of the year and this shit happens. My job is seasonal and if the gulf shuts down due to corona virus I'll end up losing everything.
