So far, evidence suggests that it will not but we’ll know definitively soon. Here in Colombia we have 22 cases. We had 13 cases yesterday. But virtually none of them are community spread. The death rates spiked in Italy recently - I know they ran out of hospital beds but these numbers are enormous. The world woke up this week, either because they weren’t paying attention before OR something changed. But the numbers speak for themselves. World Meter (below) has a great statistic, “active cases” and “closed cases”. That means of closed cases (people who are no longer infected), 48% have died and 52% recovered. [link to www.worldometers.info (secure)] 2) France just locked down all restaurants, cafes, etc only essential businesses will continue. Why? Don’t take it from me, take it from their Minister of Health: “FRANCE NOW AT EPIDEMIC LEVELS. More than 50% of COVID-19 cases in French ICUs are now people under 60” Read that again. Now combine it with the fact that 25% of Italian cases need ICU. It’s NOT an old person’s illness (even if it was, screw you, a lot of us fall into that old person category) Summary: 48% death rate, 25% need ICU and there won’t be beds or ventilators, 50% of those who need ICU are under 60. Governments are scrambling to stop this and the measures will get harsher and harsher in the days and weeks ahead. DON’T GO OUTSIDE! Limited testing leads to statistical bullshit. |
