Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals Yep, all part of the plan. Charge people money when they themselves are doing NOTHING. Quoting: Cebeij All it will do is cause a run on the banks. Most mortgages and loans are auto-payments, and cant be stopped manually by the end users. So the only way to stop them is to empty your account completely. |

Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals So the lousy banks are gonna do what exactly? Kick everyone out? The easy fix on this is to storm the banks headquarters rip apart the computers and servers, beat the shit out of the leaders and torch the place. Many have said this will happen if the banks try to play hardball in this environment. I’m not the only one. It will be the end of that organization. Not my words, this is from many, many people. |

Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals Lots word going around that there are mass layoffs happening all throughout Canada. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75993659 Businesses shutting down and closing doors. The Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated yesterday in a press conference that the government is working with banks to assist citizens and that banks are now going to be doing mortgage payment deferrals. The wife and I are self-employed. All of our clients have closed their doors and laid-off all of their staff. We'll have no income coming in very soon. Making mortgage payments impossible soon. We called our bank (mortgage lender) and told them of the situation and that the news announcement from the Prime Minister stated that banks are offering payment deferrals. We asked them to defer. They denied. Once again, government lied. So now we have to go to the bank and empty out the accounts and hold the cash in order to pay for food and supplies should we run out. Bump for DOOM! It's coming folks! |

Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals CIBC. They stated the issues surrounding COVID-19 will be short lived and the expectations are that businesses that have closed down will reopen again in the beginning of April and there will return to normal operations. Therefore they dont expect a impact on the ability to pay. I personally say its bullshit. Our clients themselves say they dont have any idea when they'll open again and return to normal operations. Most have no inventory or supplies and dont know when those resources will be back and full. The banks have begun shutting down customer service lines dealing with mortgages as well. |

I dont know. I dont know what their logic is behind it. Maybe use it as excuse to the government that they need a bailout? I dunno. |

They can be charged for acts of terrorism and harrassment against mentally stressed persons and individuals. If suicide is caused by a caller for a third party debt, the phone operator who initiated the call can be charged with manslaughter. |

I'm tempted to do the same thing with my business. I hate depositing cash into the the bank machines. With this new crisis, if something goes wrong, can I count on a quick resolution ? - NO! I'm very fearful they will soon close the banks and force us to use the bank machines only. So what am I supposed to do if they do that. I have to pay bills electronically. I have a fistful of cash I can't deposit. Now what? |

Seizures (for life), psychosis, and can cause blindness, deafness, and kidney damage. Whats the point of getting better over COVID-19 if you're stuck with those miserable things the rest of your life. Totally not worth the risk. |

Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals Who has a bank in Canada that accepted deferrals? What is considered a new mortgage? Is it only for older mortgages? Or people that put 20% down? We got our house two years ago and bypassed CMHC. Would we qualify?? |

Banks refusing mortgage payment deferrals if the banks start deferring mortgage payments because of a flu that will hugely contradict reasons why they would never defer mortgage payments before. I had a friend who was in a bad truck accident in 2008. dude was mangled up pretty bad and put in a wheel chair. Bank wouldnt let him defer his mortgage. he lost his house. now they will start deferring for millions of people because of a flu going around? yeah right,, this isnt gonna fly |

CIBC doesn't erase paid off mortgages on their balance sheet to inflate their assets. They are in a lot of trouble. Repo and collection Agencies cannot operate during a state of emergency if declared by a provincial or state government. If they call you ask for their name and address and notify your local police and or RCMP. Nobody has any love for these banks. And everyone would pay if they could but the system is predatory and destined to collapse. |
