Grocery store workers obtain Hero status

I run a large store. Flagship of the company. Assistant manager. Decent size community. There’s a hospital close by. Let me tell you what I’ve seen happening.


I had two days off, that’s when the pandemic was announced. The store manager, who I am close with and work close with, called me. He told me we were set to do the company’s biggest day in sales. The shelves were wiped and we had a huge load coming in tomorrow. People went nuts. I came in the next day, early, and my back room was stuffed. The shelves were bare. I had no guys to help me work the stock, only two slow fuckin kids. I have to use them to do other things, customer service, and carts. I worked like a madman to get that food on the shelf. I got an unbelievable piece count done. I just had to. Because of how I work, and customer service people wouldn’t tell I’m stressed. I always work fast. But when I saw that, it was very real. I remained calm and executed the job. Ran the store while slamming stock all day till my relief manager came in.



Everyone was in there buying. But they didn’t seem panicked. Everyone was fairly calm. There were a few assholes. One of my guys told me the day before was worse with the customers. Crazy lines. Packed store. Everything was wiped. All sections. It was a madhouse. The last week at work was insane. We doubled our stores weekly sales. All the management worked their asses off. I ordered heavy and worked hard to keep those shelves stocked.


Our whole team worked hard. People came together. Our store was the best looking out of all stores in our city. Some spots were a bit bare, but there was food. Many people thanked me and are still thanking me. Everyone else got laid off and can’t work. Things are a bit more calm at work. Still busy. People don’t want to go out. They say we put ourselves in harms way. We are essential services.
I’m not saying I believe that. My dad was in the military and he’s saying I’m a hero for doing what I’m doing. I say I am and tell the people I work with they are, to keep up moral and spirits. I tell them we are now the glue that is holding society together haha. And hospital workers and other essentials.
It’s funny how things change. NBA players and sports, actors, all the bullshit. None of that matters anymore. The world is never going to be the same from this. I have no fear. I don’t fear this virus. The white hats flipped it anyways. Time to see the pedo cabal go down. Just thought I’d share what I’ve been seeing.
