It’s psychological. I agree with him saying what he said. He said, “I’d like to see us end the lockdown April 12.” He didn’t say we WOULD. He said he’d like to see it. He’s giving people hope in the short term. The govt will REVISIT the situation and make a determination April 12. They most probably won’t lift the lockdown, but Trump putting a short term date out there gives people optimism. No one wants to hear: “we’re going to be locked down for 6 months!” That’s a psychological loser. Depression. Hopelessness. And besides, by April 12, some areas might be able to go about business; albeit in a more measured way, at least for awhile. |

The cure destroyed America. The cause would not have. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77945399 America is not destroyed. Just breathe. It is. You just don't realize it. I find that point of view hysterical. Anyway, in some ways it was destroyed way before this virus ever landed on our shores. But let it ride? Two questions: Do you have children? Would it be ok if it took one of your kids? |

He didn't even say he would put America back to work by Easter. He doesn't have the authority to override the states anyway. So it's all moot really. |

Quoting: THNKuCLLR Most people who aren't giving Trump a sideways look for saying this are those who somehow still manage to think the virus is imaginary or not a big deal, or people saying what you've said here, "he's giving hope". The idea of the populace returning to business as usual in the midst of a pandemic does the opposite of giving hope to those aware of the implications. |

That would only suggest our efforts are having some effect and we perhaps should not end them prematurely, but I'm not sure that's right. I have been keeping very good track of the numbers and I will have a look. |
