Like so many older mature people, I've worked my backside off all my life. Paid all my taxes, paid all my bills, contributed years of my life to volunteering in many community support organisations etc.
All my life I've paid into National Insurance that guarantees me 'world class healthcare' (according to the NHS).

Like so many other mature people, I've sacrificed so much for my children. To make sure they had the best start in life.

Like so many other mature parents, we see clearly that our adult children have much easier lives than we had (the obscene debts that the system makes them pay in student loans is NONE of our doing).

Like so many other mature parents of adult children, I am the Bank of Mum and Dad still.

What makes young people believe that I'm worth less than anyone else? What makes you, AC, believe that you're not worth caring for?


Your line of thinking is a slippery slope.
All the West's nations have some form of constitution that upholds equality, that guarantees no discrimination on any characteristic like sex, gender, race, age, disability, sexuality, religion etc etc.

So here now, AC, you're advocating discriminating against me and yourself because or our mature years.

What happens when, through some odd set of circumstances, some group misguidedly decides that, say, teenagers are a burden to society?? Will that be ok to refuse them life sustaining support and medical treatment?

Because that's where your thin end of the wedge opinion leads - to arbitrary discrimination and culling of humans....just because ...

It leads to selective genocide.


You should note well. What we've found in the UK these past couple of weeks is that none of our community support systems on which millions of people, young and old and inbetween, rely are available or they're not working well enough to really help anyone.

That's because they all rely on volunteers. Most of whom are mature people, just like you and me. And we were the first to be told to stay indoors.

Take out one demographic - any one - and the whole population loses out majorly.

(Don't come at me about money, whining that we can't afford care for older people. Bollocks. There's enough money out there to build a luxury hospital care suite for every single person that needs one. Trouble is, putting it crudely, our governments give that money to their billionaire chums in the form of tax rebates paid for by we the taxpayer.)

What does Canada gain by trying to downplay this virus?

In a televised address, he said a "moment of national emergency" meant staying at home was necessary to protect the NHS and save lives.

The first thing I noted about that sentence was that the NHS is the priority. Saving lives comes second.

For years now, BoJo's party has starved the NHS of funds to make it look like it needs to be privatised and 'run better' by commercial mobsters.

Result - the NHS is on its knees anyway. It can't cope with a flu outbreak let alone a new, very contagious bug. Hell, you couldn't get to see a GP within a month before this covid19. God knows what the wait is now.

What BoJo and his party are doing now is backfilling. Desperately trying to fill the gaps that they created.
One of ways of aiding this backfilling is to slow down the spread of this non-High Consequence Infectious Disease so that the failing NHS has a shot at coping with some more patients than a high winter flu count.

If they fail and the NHS fails the public, then the British people will ferociously never forgive them. They would not stand a chance of being voted back in next time round.

That's the fishiness, in a nutshell.

Essentially, effetive March 19, UK GOVERNMENT put Cov19 at SAME level, for PUBLIC HEALTH POLICIES (actions), as H1N1, TUBERCULOSIS etc. and BELOW SARS-1 since Cov19 DOES HAVE a LOW fatality rate

MEANING, NO NEED TO "CONSTRAIN" CIVIL RIGHTS (to work, for instance), which is EXCLUSIVE when "managing" HICDs those remainning in the list, like Ebola and SARS-1

even though he basis of this logic is funded on the LOW fatality rate part, and fatality rate is a function of a country-specific ability / health structure of coping with the hard cases, the "high" emergency declarations are not reasonable anylonger at least in US, South Korea, Germany, and France, I think

its low consequences compared to things that have a high death rate

they haven't got a clue what to do utter chaos

The sheople would revolt if governments didn't kow-tow to the WHO....

I don't understand how you could be posting stats from the msm on a forum like this. Are you completely oblivious? The only thing we know for sure is that the msm lies and spreads misinfo, disinfo? Or do you think they would start telling the truth now all of a sudden. The evil monsters who own and dictate the msm grew a heart all of a sudden after all these years All you are doing is helping them spread fear.

The reality is that we just do not know for sure how many people have or haven't been infected. Because testing is very scant to say the least.
Thus all figures, MSM or otherwise, are based on dodgy assumptions.

I'm in my 70s and not self isolating when half the country already had it weeks ago. I'm sure I had it wasn't normal cold/flu. Everyone I know had it this all madness to save few that ill anyways. All you have to do is protect those most at risk best you can and let the rest act as normal. you don't put the future of you nation at risk for this. my grand children will be paying for this for 30 years in taxes..I would rather die than put that burden on them.
