This is not good! Unfortunately, it's just the beginning. Depending on an enemy for life saving drugs was never a good idea, and now it's going to cost us.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

IF we, as a nation, make it thru this shit-mess with the virus and drug 'shortage' etc., we should find out WHO in the Federal Government allowed the nation to become dependent on China for the manufacture of critical drugs and medical supplies. Once we have identified the individuals or groups, they should be prosecuted for negligence and dereliction of duty.

At the same time, all the major Drug Companies and manufacturers of medical equipment should be ordered to bring the manufacture of these drugs and supplies back into the USA, and make sure that the component chemicals and parts needed to make these critical supplies are readily available in the USA.

No matter how "cheap" a product is because it is made offshore, vs at home, the low price is no good if the item, medication, supplies are not available to us for any reason. The Communist Chinese have proven over and over again that they are not worthy of our trust and we should NEVER BE DEPENDENT ON THEM FOR ANYTHING CRITICAL AGAIN>

Anyone with the slightest bit of brain power could have seen this coming. How could they have been so stupid and short-sided that they put this country's drug manufacturing in the hands of China? Or food destined for this country?
Or parts that supply our military?

Production better get cranking in this country, and never give an enemy that kind of power over us again.

Have you seen the list of drugs that are in short supply?

The American Association of Hospital Pharmacists track drug shortages and the list is massive and includes a whose who of key drugs.

Shortages so severe the FDA is allowing use of expired drugs to fill void.

Almost all of them due to manufacturing problems - read that “Made in China” and not available.

Azithromycin which has been in the news a lot lately - “Pfizer has azithromycin injection on shortage due to manufacturing delays.”

Basic IVs - “ Pfizer has 50% dextrose injection on shortage due to manufacturing delays.”

Just about every widely used IV antibiotic is in short supply.

This "Made in China" has been going on for decades.

Way before Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president, he complained we were giving our manufacturing jobs to China. One of the first things he fought for, as president, was to bring those jobs back to the USA. He knew.

Just look at this! It's unbelievable!

Less pharmas, less hospital visits, less un-needed surgeries = less iatrogenic, infections in general, and hospital error deaths.

"Globally it is estimated that 142,000 people died in 2013 from adverse effects of medical treatment, an increase of 51 percent from 94,000 in 1990.[9] In the United States, estimated deaths per year include: [26][27][28][29]

12,000 due to unnecessary surgery
7,000 due to medication errors in hospitals
20,000 due to other errors in hospitals
80,000 due to nosocomial infections in hospitals
106,000 due to non-error, negative effects of drugs
Based on these figures, iatrogenesis may cause as many as 225,000 deaths per year in the United States (excluding recognizable error). An earlier Institute of Medicine report estimated 230,000 to 284,000 iatrogenic deaths annually.[26]"

If we don’t walk away from this with a plan to begin making every single medical necessity Americans need right here in our country, we will truly be our own demise.

We can make all this stuff here, employ millions of Americans to do it, and create factories of the future that can reconfigure what they’re able to make in 24 hours to meet the needs of a health crisis.

It’s all possible, would bring money and jobs back to OUR COUNTRY. It will just take some willingness by corporations to care more about Americans than about their own personal greed.

Ok folks, TP is produced in the States. Speaking on behalf of the county, which I am not authorized to do, we are trying to get you your toilet paper! Of course, I haven't seen any on the shelves here. I probably goes to Kansas or somewhere before it is shipped back. (Our mail goes to Tallahassee before it comes back.)

Well, according to the Hoax-tards, none of this is true!

“Clearly”, China is still manufacturing these drugs, but the pharmaceutical companies are hoarding all of it while claiming there is a shortage due to manufacturing problems!

So where do all of YOU stand?

.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77432258

I have little doubt that big pharmacy is hoarding so as to up the price. All big pharmacy are evil. If they cared about our country, they would be using their research labs and university labs to begin production. Not saying it would be easy but it can be done.

Plus, places like NY are most likely grossly overstating their need because they want stuff free from the federal like Cuoma asking for 60,000 ventilators.

Most all hospitals administrators should be foredeck because of how they sent money on frills instead of essentials.

Don't worry the value of the dollar will be falling so much that it will make more sense to mfg here. The good news is we'll be making more shit, the bad news is the average worker won't be able to afford as much as they use to. Which will increase the calls for socialism. Its all connected.

The number one Pharmaceutical compounding company in America was PharMEDium Healthcare, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amerisource-Bergen Corporation.

On or about May 22, 2019, The US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (Chicago), acting on a lawsuit they brought on behalf of the FDA, entered into a Consent Decree with Pharmedium about their production methods.

The FDA wanted Pharmedium to utilize standards of a Pharmaceutical MANUFACTURER instead of those they previously used as a Compounding company (Pharmacy) that merely mixed drugs.

The new standards proved so cumbersome and so unprofitable, that on January 30, 2020 Amerisource-Bergen Corporation decided to cease Pharmedium Operations and CLOSE that business.

Just like that ---- Pharmedium, the largest pharmaceutical compounding business in America ---- was out of business.

Here we are, two or three months later, the country is running out of medicines.

As your loved ones die from lack of medicines, you can thank Scott Gotleib, who was FDA Commissioner under whose tenure the lawsuit was brought, The FDA itself, and the US Attorney for the northern District of Illinois (who brought the suit). It was THEIR actions that caused the destruction of the largest pharmaceutical compounding company in this country.
