Yeah, its weird, a virus won't affect utilities.

In theory, you will have issues with power once enough workers get sick, but, in reality, the virus has actually infect a very small portion of the population, and it will take a lot more for this to happen.

Water in cities relies on power, which many people don't realize, so once power goes out, you will also loose water shortly after.

Other cases like here, where much power is coal fired, once enough miners get sick, the supply chain will break down too, causing plants to be shuttered.

But I agree with comments, all business are shutdown, so consumption is reduced, so it is wierd.

Could be just a hype piece, but the more I dig into the world the more I feel there are very few coincidences.

Given the sum of everything that's happening, this is weird, my money is predictive programming.

I really feel that this lockdown hype has below the surface, despite what they say and holes it has exposed in food system, been to ensure people _do_ stock up, meaning ppl have food without having to tell them major doom is incoming

yeah, you know, except when the engineers that work to maintain and keep the grid happy can't do that work because they're out sick.

Did you even read the article? They are concerned that illness related staff shortages may result in blackouts. You do realize that people operate power plants, right? FFS not everything is a lie IQ Trump-loving conspiracy.

This is nothing but scaremongering by the daily fail. With factories and shops shut the national grid is actually using much less power than any normal day. I remember the blackouts in the 70s but that was due to strike action.
