Lots of places are refusing cash and have been for weeks. Not new or surprising. A pretty obvious decision for a business owner.

All the buses in SA wont accept cash. Have to use a pre-paid Metrocard.

Our liquor stores don't take cash, have giant plexi-glass barriers setup, and the cashier guy gives tons of attitude when you don't put the product on their makeshift counter correctly (barcode facing a certain way so he can scan it) and it's all about as intuitive as... well it isn't intuitive at all, because everyone's just making it up as they go along.

It looks absurd. It looks absolutely stupid.
