Black man in Chicago, shot 27 times, finally succumbs to Covid-19

The tragic death of Joe Brown, 17, a Chicago resident, is making rounds on social media. The young man was shot 27 times in a gang-related incident, rushed to the hospital where, after multiple surgeries, he managed to remain alive on life-support.

Then he was tested for Covid-19, and tested positive. His family was devastated. While doctors had given him a slim chance to live but there was still hope.

Then came the diagnoses. "We had a little hope, then they tested him for Covid-19, he tested positive, and we knew then it was probably over."

Brown was then placed on a ventilator and died 12 seconds later, of Covid-19.

It was the 353rd Covid-19 death this week in Chicago, as the numbers continue to rise, area officials are warning residents to stay inside, avoid family members and prepare to be vaccinated or starve to death.
