Sorry about you city dwellers who have to buy that factory meat. Last Edited by Shiva ascendant on 04/22/2020 08:20 PM This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. We have been dead for the last few days and shelves full and tons of backstock. I personally think people ran out of places to store food especially frozen and refrigerated food. Its pretty calm right now we got through the rush I don't think we will have another rush until like october if this drags on that long. |

He must be very busy taking care of them and slaughtering and chopping/cutting. What a man! |

The next big issue unfolding is the shuttering of the nation's food plants could drive food inflation sky high. On Wednesday, Tyson Fresh Meats, the beef and pork subsidiary of Tyson Foods, released a statement that said its plant in Waterloo, Iowa, will suspend operations until further notice. The company said the Waterloo location is its largest pork plant, has been running at reduced output "due to worker absenteeism." Yeah, that news is several days old. The newest news is Smithfield Foods in S. Dakota. They are also a pork plant and larger than Tyson is what I read. Bacon doom is definitely coming. |

He must be very busy taking care of them and slaughtering and chopping/cutting. What a man! It's easier than you think. Grocery stores that still have a butcher in the back can get hanging carcasses in and make the cuts and wrap the product right there in the back of the store. The actually butchering can be done by small local facilities. I know of several around my area. All I have to do is buy the meat on the hoof and have it delivered to the butcher and I pick up my packaged meat a week or two later cut the way I want it. No grocery store involved. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78803527 I know what I am doing this week... Yep. Hunting won't be just for sport before long if this keeps up. mark it down - there's gonna be a "2nd wave", or some other boogeyman and they will double down on these restrictions. i fully expect them to make hunting/fishing illegal especially in fall/winter for whitetail. they are after FOOD CONTROL. the "virus" is a smokescreen or trojan horse. nothing more. |

One pork factory closes and now there will be a food shortage? That's it, the U.S.A. only had one meat plant? Quoting: 4doggies There will always be food but most will not be able to afford it. Think a good steak is expensive now? Just wait. |
