A better investment would be to take that $300 and buy a 10 oz bar of silver. Youre not going to get rich but you prob wont lose |

Highly recommend unless you have a few 1000 lying around. The way you ask I don’t think this really is something for you though |

Walk me through the basics, if you are so inclined You can open a practice account so you won't loose real money. Get to know the trading platform. Get some experience, then go live and blow your first account. It's ok if you can afford to spend the $300. Trade in the smallest increment possible at first. First do some paper trading with the same amount that you are starting with. There are a few exchanges and chart sites that allow you to do this, some may want a monthly fee ( small ). Try the link below. [link to gocharting.com (secure)] Go to Youtube and search for day trading courses. Grab pen and paper, and take screen shots. Create a folder for those to use as reference. Also, watch trading psychology video series. Really listen up. Emotions are your worst enemy when you trade. FOMO is not your friend - if you are afraid of missing out, step away from the computer fast. There is always the next trade - so wait for it. Trading is not as easy as it looks. So don't kid yourself. Even the pros fuck up and make noob mistakes. After a year or two, you might get pretty good at it. And remember, the trend is your friend until it isn't. Go here for trading and psychology courses free and paid. No sugar coating on this. Listen at .75 speed at first. Krown is a GLP'r from way back. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Best of luck to you. Last Edited by Moon&Stars on 04/22/2020 07:42 PM Moonstar |

Even the pros are getting rogered hard Can’t do any worse than them, yeah? Someone is winning... It’s not like I want to retire Just increase If you had, say, 500 grand in your trading account, you could place stops WAY above, or below, your position. That way, you MIGHT not get stopped out when the sharks go stop hunting. Realistically? Fuggedaboutit, and buy some silver, as suggested above. |

User ID: 78831515 Australia 04/22/2020 07:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not really, sorry mate. This game is the hardest game in the world. It's played by the sharpest, smartest and most committed people on the planet. The rewards are freedom with the power of expression, or being rich as you think of it. Everyone in here is right, you're going to get chopped to shit real quick. It's basically like a casino in that you might have one or two wins initially that encourage you, but then you're going to find out that the house generally wins. I've been doing this for over a year and I still only use less than 10% of my capital to trade with. You need to develop a system or else you are just guessing and gambling. Developing a system is not a quick process. Like I said, a bunch of people smarter and more dedicated then you are also trying to develop systems, that's who you're competing against. If you're really keen here is my advice: - Trade crypto. Bitcoin, no alts just yet. Alts are too correlated to btc and the price action is choppy at the best of times. A good looking alt chart can be ruined in seconds by some cunt fat fingering a btc market order. Also, it's faster. You'll be trying to trade forex for tiny 0.5% gains which will involve leaving a trade open for days. That's days in which your mind can be fucked and you can shoot yourself in the foot. Btc can do a 15% move in an hour. At 1% risk with a - 1% stop loss that is a 15% account gain. I'll let your mind wander with what you can do with 6 of those trades in a row. Lastly, crypto is 100% you, no brokers or shitty middlemen. - Develop a system. This is going to take work and time, sorry but there is no way around that. If it was easy everyone would do it. - Get your mental game up to scratch. Psychology is actually the most important aspect of trading. Find and read a book called "Trading in the Zone". It's invaluable to this sort of pursuit. - Start and aim slow. This is a journey of a thousand steps. You're not going to get rich overnight. The only way that happens is if you risk a suitably large amount of your capital and get lucky. You can also get unlucky. Ultimately trading is a game of survival. Preservation of capital is key if you want to make it. Hopefully some of that helps. Order is tyranny, chaos is freedom. |

Assuming you know how to play Chess? I can play Chess, but in a room-full of Grand-Masters I wouldn't have a chance! Likewise with your Day-Trader, flim-flam, shill-o-rama, Stark-Market scheme. But you have to watch those fees, OP. Small trades can add up - but fees can eat you up if you aren't careful. And OP - stay the hell away from leverage until you acquire some expertise. User ID: 77780715 Canada 04/22/2020 08:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you're referring to the cryptocurrency world.. Research and figure out which Crypto(s) you want to invest in. Then, wait until you see lots of red on CoinMarketCap and buy the dip/mini-crash. If you buy when the market is in the green, it could easily drop and you could be stuck HODLing for a long time waiting to make a profit. When the value rises (hopefully), I'd recommend you convert it back to fiat and recoup your money. Then you have the option of putting your profits also into fiat, or toward the coin(s) you're interested in. Then you can accumulate currencies basically for free over time. Stay away from sketchy exchanges. Since you are American, I'd recommend Coinbase. I like Coinsquare as well (Canadian exchange). I agree with the majority here who will say that you will get burned if not careful. Start with small trades until you get the hang of things. It's a huge hassle admittedly. Recently, as the years have gone by, I've seen fewer and fewer successful day traders. So, no. |

Serious replies please I freely confess to ignorance I did something similar a year ago with an online brokerage account. My "investment" is now worth less than half what it was then. LOL. The only decent stocks worth investing in are very expensive. Like everything else, you need a lot of money to make any money in stock investing. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78783039 Canada 04/22/2020 08:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Throw 10 bucks at your most easily accessed method to buy into some bitcoin or whatever, and go on an exchange like Binance or some such that allow fast trading, and practice doing microtrades while watching and learning to understand the meaning of the graphs and buy/sell walls and such, and what happens when they move in certain patterns. Exchange between the various coins as you see opportunities, making 2 cents here, 10 cents there, and so on. (Doesn't matter if you lose some too, it's all good) It's a good kindergarten sort of education in that sort of thing, on the super cheap, and also doesn't require some massive deposit first, while still giving you the thrill (and attentiveness) of gambling with real money in a live situation. You can even grow that 10 bucks into a reasonable stash if you get good at it. Some folk make their living doing Crypto day trading. But don't even consider putting any kind of substantial amount into crypto during this time. Consider it a toy to play with, for now. |
