Greg Abbott will be announcing the second phase of his plan to re-open Texas at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon from the Texas capitol. Phase One went into effect last week with the reopening of state parks (with social distancing restrictions), the restart of elective medical procedures, and retail stores being allowed to offer “to-go” service. He has been advised by two councils made up of business and medical leaders from around the state on what his next steps could be. Hot wheels isn’t fucking around. They're saying gyms and bars middle of May. So how exactly will they enforce social distancing there? To keep things at 25% capacity are they going to have people at every entrance of the mall tallying up how many can enter? Will you call ahead at your favorite restaurant to reserve a table for a specific time? With the 25% capacity rule I see no other way to do it Does Hollywood really want to release any of their blockbusters when theatres can't pack 100s in at a time? What movies will they show? |

People have to wait close to each other in line to get in so they don't have to walk next to each other in the stores |

The virus can't be stopped, all they can do is slow it down, "Flatten the curve". It will be a cycle until herd immunity is reached. If we don't get businesses opened back up there will not be any businesses to come back too! |

Eh I'm stuck here for now. Texas you get down with your bad selves! We Texans are thrilled. The point of the lockdown was to "flatten the curve" not hide out from the virus. Hospitals are empty. There is no reason to stay closed. Texas gave up on this BS a couple weeks ago anyway. Before Easter it's been mostly business as usual. A few masks. If you are elderly, immunocompromised or just scared, you can mask up or stay home. |

As for the rest of Texas, hospitals are empty. And “several people” doesn’t fill up hospitals. Probably because of all of Austin’s drugged out homeless problem that y’all have had for years. |

Millions have moved to Texas for that slavery. My Dad left behind Oklahoma and California after World II, to live in ( West) Texas where a man was accepted if he was willing to work, and do his job! They are absolutely deserted They are nowhere near capacity for coronavirus and have no other patients. |
