As I remember/understand it, the out-of-Africa theory was the original theory for mans dispersion.

The theory went that humans first evolved here in South Africa in the so called Cradle of Mankind.

Over time, they migrated naturally northwards. The idea is that the further they went, natural selection helped to increase their intelligence/etc as they struggled to survive in snow/etc, and those that stayed simply maintained, as they had no need to progress.

This in theory explained why the original (i.e. oldest) inhabitants where still living early iron age, no writing, no wheel, simple languages, etc.

So therefore, the further the groups traveled, the more advanced they should be.

Thus, the peoples of the Americas crossed the ice at the land bridge between Russia/Canada, and moved south, therefore the most advanced should be the people living in the southern tip of South America.

The aborigines ancestors would have gotten stuck in Singapore, invented boats, navigation etc etc and made it to AU, and thus should also be pretty advanced.

And yet one of the most advanced ancient civilizations was just other side of the jungle in North Africa. And obviously aborigines have no sea faring capability and early Agentinian inhabitants where not advanced (and no, I don't think the continents where joined at that time, that was much longer ago, it had to be cos that is their equally bs reason why AU wildlife is so unique)

What I also don't get, is EU had stone age peoples, thus these people must have moved north before the iron age. Why is it then that every group of people on earth reached the iron age independently, but some whilst capable of evolving to this point, just stopped and progressed no further?

Thus, I think this theory is total bs. And I think many people are now also saying this.

In general I think much of what we have been taught about timelines, etc, etc is all bs, as it is they are just making half of it up, then teaching it to us like fact.
