Sullivan is essentially threatening to retaliate because Flynn exercised his right to move to withdraw the plea, plus giving non-parties rights in the case.

But Flynn wasn't charged with Perjury. I don't get it. Is this sullivan guy trying to make this Gleeson guy the NEW AND IMPROVED prosecutor?

It's called 'copping a plea' to avoid trial and take a lesser sentence. It's done all the time. In this case he plead guilty because the prosecutor threatened his family and hid evidence that he was innocent (and his law firm before Powell). If he had all the Brady material he never would have plead guilty. The original 302 was lost? (Likely destroyed) Highly illegal activity by the prosecutor.

Yes! But now Sullivan is trying to sidestep that with holding Gen Flynn in criminal contempt for perjury and sentencing for that - for changing his plea he is saying he perjured himself in his court. This is fucking nuts.

I hear ya. But judges always ask the defendent "How do you plead?" And the defendent replies, "Guilty" Even if he doesn't think he is, just to get the plea bargain.

But in this case the prosecutor withheld evidence and even lied to the court and then there are the notes showing the fbi set him up and violated his rights by telling him he didn't need a lawyer and he wasn't under investigation.

AG Barr has underestimated the danger he has put Flynn in by trying to drop the case based on FBI/DOJ procedure failures. Barr needs to put DOJ into a posture where it wants to find a way to have these charges dismissed, by any means necessary. Right now!

Pleading guilty when you are innocent in order to get a "lesser charge" plea bargain is understandable, but weighs heavily against you for any subsequent appeals no matter how justified, or how much exculpatory evidence is later found.

They are trying to holding him in contempt for pleading guilty to a lie they entrapped him in.
