Unfortunately you are absolutely right! I suggest as part of ones preps trying to get all 9 books in the Foxfire series! A wealth of information of the sort you speak of. However, if you would like to read more about our journey through the world of preparedness and our homestead, please see my previous article in the SurvivalBlog archives for November 26-27, 2019. As a follow-up I am writing this to explain what we have done just in the past 100 days and how the global pandemic and possible near-future economical collapse has impacted us and our preparations. 100 DAYS OF FINAL PREPARATIONS For as long as I can remember, I have always had a mindset of preparedness, partly because of my background as a first responder and a disaster preparedness educator. But I became a true prepper (if one can define such people) about eight years ago. The shelf of extra canned goods turned into an entire room and a half full of supplies for our family of four during normal times (and 7+ during a bug in time), piles and boxes and containers of food, medical supplies, ammo, non-electric kitchen tools, and whatever I think we might need to survive The end of the world as we know it (TEOTWAWKI). More at link.... I learned everything the same and lived the same...because my parents went through the Depression and WWII. Much simpler explanation. ;) |

Yes, there will be losers, pain, loss, fatalities, disappointments, errors, disengagements, stoppages, uncertainty, and struggle. But, Mankind has undergone all of that without any permanent relief other than within a Theocracy in God. And, Mankind failed even that. America will endure, just not as it has been during the Golden Decades. |

Now, finances of large companies and State/local governments. They appear to be burning down slowly in a sea of debt and Trump will not bail them out. This has to play out. I'm not sure at what point we leave the sinking ship and get on the new one before it goes under the waves. November as good a choice as any. |

Unless you have a 500 yr underground bunker, it's futile. When the power goes out, the zombies will follow any light source for 20 miles right back to the people who had a generator and planned ahead. Every day will bring a new war and heavy fire fights just to keep what you have and those around you safe. You'll eventually deplete all of your resources by just trying to protect what you have. And you can forget about resupply runs. You're a target and you'll be under siege every single minute of your life until death finally comes for you. Not only do you have to think about starving neighbors, but just about everyone will be coming for you. The military as well as the invaders from other countries. A true bugout is only as good as the 3-5 day pack you carry. It needs to be able to resupply you and yours when you need it. There has to be many drop locations and a well organized plan. And youd better know how to escape the eye in the sky, because if you don't, the silent death from above WILL follow. Survival is not a hobby, its a damn skill of perfection thru practice. If you're not physically conditioned to carry an 80lb pack, medical and ammo, numerous small arms with vests and additional molle packs, binoculars and much more...then in aboht 5 minutes into your journey, you're gonna drop like a sack of shit! Think im wrong? Remember the highway of death in Kuwait? They all had a basic bugout plan also....God Speed |
