I agree with you. This site can be really informative about so many different subjects. And some of the folks here are just too dam funny! I just don't understand why all the ugliness is allowed!

The thing is, we don't have to come here...but I don't get it, either. I sometimes have to take a few days off from GLP because of all the ugly and very nasty on here. I get too fed up with it. I think, 'There wouldn't be any nasty in my life, if it weren't for GLP.'


I do however love this place, and there are some people on here I've really grown to love....I just wish there was a little more peace here, and not so much "war."

I don't come here often anymore, but back in 2011 this site helped change my life. There were a lot of influential people on this site that year. It was a very spiritual experience

The site is about the ugliness going on that goes unseen by banal 8 year olds.
I thought i could mock the weenie govt faction and maybe provoke some people into dignified self worth above the ocean of drech the world tries to nake this country of? Thats the story anyway

The site was a BEAUTIFUL thing back then....so wonderful and powerful. Many people's lives were changed for the better. We all had so many ideas and shared them. We'd have multiple pages on a thread without anyone posting something like, "Take the hamster out of your butt"....fucking soulless asshats.

I do miss those days, but it is what it is. We've somehow managed to adapt to the way it is now, kinda...or we just go away.

I have concern that one of these days all GLP is going to be is ugly and nasty, though, because more and more good posters are leaving. The smut around here is sometimes too much to take for intelligent and spiritual types of people....this used to be a great home for us of that type.


I dunno. It's not my site, so I have no say in how it's run. I can only share my opinion and hope admin sees it and thinks about it....and I'm only sharing that opinion now because I have been thinking about closing my account.

I don't want to do that, but like I said, GLP is the only place I experience nasty in my life. Seriously.

Another thing is all life is here...there are a lot of very wise, helpful, knowledgeable, expert, funny, kind, patient, clever and experienced people here.

On the other hand we also get the drive-bys. Those who're just out for blood - anyone's blood. Because they're in a bad mood that day, because they feel the need to prove themselves by crushing others, because they've given up on life, because they're in need of help or they're just young and stupid and don't know anything much but think they know it all...

So they project all that shit onto random strangers on the internet. It's all so tedious. But we're all at different places in our lives and I kind of feel that nowadays perhaps I know better than to engage with the projections. I don't take it personally. I remember how stupid and ignorant I was when younger/less knowledgeable and just let these twerps get on with their stuff as, no doubt, many people did for me back when!

Your post was very refreshing to read today. I've never considered anyone on this site as real. I mean, how do you know who runs this place and who is who? Really?

I figure most post are about product placement/advertising, political persuasion, Fear Porn, Poll taking, AC tracking, generally I think of this site as one big Spook Shop likely run by bots of some sort.

That being said I try to say something that might help some unannounced reader and I try to learn about different POV. I think I've matured as well. Everybody needs understanding and love.

I think I'm stronger and I don't get as shocked by the meanies anymore, and I don't desire to compete with them. And, God bless the Millennials! LOL.

I have several friendships outside of here with people I've met on GLP.

Some of us are very real, but I get what you're saying.

We all learn from each other.

Like posting here, learn quite a bit, some pple are nice, grin - and some, well, just shake my head at their words.
