...as in snakes. Real snakes.

Python regius

We recently received a rather chunky ~6 month-old female "Pied" ball python, and were curious to others' [mis]adventures with similar snakes...

I bred them years ago, I had a large female that was really a neat animal.

I could take her outside and she would follow me around the yard like a dog would. She loved being held and would always do her best to crawl up onto my neck whenever she could.

she really was a cool snake.

they have their own personalities as well.

I like to hear things like that :)

They are definitely curious and inquisitive creatures.

We don't give them enough street cred for being a noodle with a head :)

Our girl here has come around rather quickly, though she's ready for a feeding now.

I was curious as to others' experience in transitioning from live to frozen/thawed rodents...

Have you come here for an argument? You are in the wrong place, it's the next office down.

Maybe. Depends on one's stance on "Spider" ball pythons...

Re: Any 'real' python afficianados in the house?
I'm very against the breeding of "spider" pythons, mostly because of the neurological disorders that come with breeding them.

I feel that breeding the "spider" gene is somewhat inhumane, since it basically ensures some level of neurological dysfunction in the snake, generally speaking...
