We had good estimates of infection rate and death rate with the diamond princess (which also was a study of an older population) early on and everyone still ran with the 3-4% death rate. I know some healthcare pros who still believe this 3-4% death rate despite it being fully debunked and only used by WHO.

I don't think one's death is as random as it may appear. I had a near death experience during surgery in the late 1980's. My grandmother met me 'on the other side.' First words out of her mouth, "My darling, what are you doing here? It's not your time yet." After spending some time talking and looking around at heaven (much better scene than here, btw), she said, "And now you must go, it's not your time, and you have much work to do and many people to help before you return. On January 19, 2020, a 35-year-old man presented to an urgent care clinic in Snohomish County, Washington, with a 4-day history of cough and subjective fever.
