Let me be real here for a moment. Based on history, about 30% of the "come and get it" folks are dead in the first three weeks. That's what happened in Bosnia.

Here's how things like this happen. First there's something like what's happening in Minneapolis. But it happens everywhere. After about 2-4 days of that it all calms down for about a week. This is the week you get the fuck out. You go to your safe space if you have one. That week of calm is when the "gangs" form. I'm talking about more organized groups. These groups will then be coming to the neighborhoods. And if you think you and one other person are going to stop 5 to 10 groups each with 15 to 20 people, you're an idiot. You will be overrun and completely unable to stop them. And in your arrogance you will be forced to watch your wife get gang raped by 30 people and then your whole family murdered.

After the looting period of a couple of days you have two options, get the fuck out to your safe bug out place or organize a group of 15-20 people, all armed, and begin to get ready for rotating watches.

You are probably correct re: suburbs but unlike Bosnia, rural American areas are populated by serious gun/hunting enthusiasts raised shooting and hunting, with different attitudes grown out of the American mindset.

People in my neck of the woods are hunting in packs for fun and to fill freezers-- armed to the hilt all the time and open carry wherever. These are people that grow up shooting. They love it, and they'll do it.

I would say in most rural neighborhoods, packs of intruders have not only the issue of being met by similar packs (who have more experience in that environment)...but also the element of they themselves not knowing the terrain and being very confused as it is generally also very dark with lots of woodland (at least in northeast & southern areas) and quite spread out.

For these reasons, intruders in the sticks could therefore easily overcome and "picked off" like the hogs killed in the dark w/ the aid of thermal vision you saw in that video the one dude posted. People would just hang out, drink beer, wait for dark and then let the games begin.

Nobody in their right mind would come back a second time, you know? And they would be lucky to drag themselves away missing some crucial appendages if they made it out from the first try.

You are right about that. We live just outside the city limits if anyone enters our very secure property after ignoring all of the signs and cameras, they will be shot on sight no questions asked. UPS, FEDEX and anyone else who has a right to be on the property stops at the call box and we buzz them in. Family and friends know the code.
