It's a test of character. Given that humans do have free will (in most cases anyways), it's a test to see if each of us are willing to stand for our individual principles when facing extreme adversity.

It's a judgement of sorts that we are bringing upon ourselves, but if you are willing to admit your wrongs and truly reform yourself, you may progress from this test.

What happens after "Earth" is anyone's guess, but my gut tells me that death is merely an illusion and that there is a "next step". Again not trying to tell anyone how to think, I have just spent a lot of time thinking about why we could be here and what our true purpose may be.

Let's go off topic for a second. Does our individual existence end at death? I honestly believe that we are each infinite spiritual beings trapped in a "neat bag" and forced to live life after life in this evil reality. What we are as beings(I Am) was never born and can never really die.

So, do we as individual beings EVER end? Or does just this physical reality/simulation and physical human body just end?

Or are we just a finite digital computer character living out a scenario in a digital play? It ends and we end.

Considering your second option of a simulated reality, if we simply went poof then why should anyone care about what happens at all?

What difference would it make if you tried to change the world for the better if everything will just be deleted?

I just get a feeling that there is a bit more than meets the eye. Always have to be honest.

Third option to consider: We get to learn from the experiences in this very realistic simulation and apply these lessons in our "next" life in the "real world"
