There was a cop procession of sorts to carry his dead body from his home to wherever they took him. I was smiling inside because his evil ass was no longer breathing the same air as decent humans. Was he at his ranch at the turn off to page springs? He was! I am just 10 mins from there. Wow! My mom is 5 minutes from there!! My brother works at the cottonwood hospital. Crazy to meet another “cornville” resident here on glp! I lived there for 6 months and used to go to the restaraunt in page springs all the time. Love the wineries! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79126407 United States 07/08/2020 10:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’ve got people in Arizona much closer to me than a friend of a friend, close family. They both work in a hospital. They told me that the hospital told them to count everyone with similar symptoms as covid19 positive. Every person in hospital gets tested everyday and each positive test for one person counts as a new case. So if 1 guy gets tested 5 times and they’re all positive, that counts as 5 people/new cases. Quoting: Miss Bunny Swan Whoever told you that is full of shit. People with covid like symptoms are classified as covid suspect and are treated as if they are positive for safety reasons, but they are not reported as positive unless they are tested positive. Fuck you, my relatives are not full of shit, they are intelligent, hard working, nice people. I was told that even if someone in the hospital dies untested, if they had any symptoms matching COVID it is listed as a COVID death. The hospital wants that money!! They are cashing in as much as possible. That’s why they count each positive test as a new case, they get money for each “new case”. When it comes to deaths, I wouldnt be surprised if a few hospitals gamed that because all elective cases were cancelled for a month. When all elective cases are cancelled the only revenue they get are emergent cases, which is a tiny fraction of normal operations. If it was done, I hope they are sanctioned for it. When it comes to testing, hospitals don't get squat. The only people getting paid are the labs for the testing. |

This is just chat, but no hard feelings whatsoever. I just have a feeling there a shitload of bad/purposefully tainted tests out there. Just to boost numbers. I mean, it's 100 degrees here in AZ and the cases are exploding? For a coronavirus? BS!! sorry if I'm a bit curt about this, but I get worked up when I see false information spread about this thing. Its dangerous for the public and our hospitals are already overwhelmed. Well, the disinformation is out there about the testing and also the "overwhelmed" ERs/ICUs. I just cannot believe the things that are spread so readily by mainstream media. My gut screams: AGENDA. My wife's hospital is way over 100% ICU capacity. Some hospitals in the east valley are setting up beds in the freaking hospital lobby. Nurses and docs are being imported from other states because there just isn't enough staff to maintain standards of care. We are days away from switching to crisis standards of care which means people are triaged and docs will have to choose who gets the care they need. In Tucson, many covid patients are being transferred out of state because there aren't enough beds. The risk is when hospitals become overwhelmed its not just covid patients that are at risk, its ANY patient that needs to be admitted for ANY reason. If this was remotely true the MSM would be all over that place, pictures/video's would be out by the hundreds. Did we not just go through this narrative a few months ago, with fake pics/video's So again they would not miss anything real BS BS BS BS Stop spreading fear ..... |

User ID: 78294605 United States 07/08/2020 11:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My friend has a friend that has a daughter. Well, the daughter has a friend that is a nurse here in Arizona. No symptoms whatsoever. She is a covid tester nurse. Yesterday, she tested herself and it was negative. Then, a few hours later, on a hunch, she tested herself again and it was positive. They seem to send out batches geared for failure--in a randomized way. I think that is how there is such a spike in certain states, hell, maybe all states. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78986815 I am a Medical Technologust who spent my 4 years of college to become certified in laboratory testing. The only sort of testing nurses are allowed by law to do is non complex testing like a pregnancy test. Controls have to be done. Lot numbers and expiration dates must be recorded and records kept for at least 2 yrs. New testing methods have to be correlated. Someone has to show you how to do the test and check you off that they have witnessed you do the test correctly. Some testing kits have to be kept in a monitered temperature controlled environment which would be in the lab where only certified personal would be allowed to do testing. I don't know what kind of test she was running but it was not a molecular test for the actual virus. I have been looking for a job. There are a lot of jobs open for covid testing but they only want those with experience in molecular testing. I seriously doubt she has been doing antibody testing because it should be done under a biosafey level 2 hood as would any specimen that could be positive for the virus. There is no such thing as a Covid testing nurse and if there is I am going to be highly pissed. If there is a nurse doing Covid testing, well, it might be why she can't get repeatable results as well as this being against good laboratory practice and probably illegal as well. Guess what buddy, I'm flying the flag and calling you out! |

User ID: 78294605 United States 07/08/2020 11:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | unless you are talking about the rapid tests. They are notoriously inaccurate and are only used on patients that need to be admitted in an emergency or need life saving surgery when there isn't time for a PCR test. The vast majority of testing done in Arizona is a swab PCR test, which is highly accurate. However, it takes from 24 hours to up to a week to get results back depending on how swamped the labs are. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79110330 If she was testing and retesting within hours, then it is a rapid test, and very very few of those are being done. There are two rapid tests. One has a 50% accuracy rate, and the Abbot test I believe is 80%. The only Abbot test I know about is for antibody. I am pretty sure it is mixed with a substrate and therefore would be deemed moderately complex testing which a nurse would not be allowed to do. |

User ID: 78294605 United States 07/08/2020 11:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Medical scientists need to organize a study of the various tests and present data to the public (and investigators if appropriate) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77963234 PCR swab tests are very accurate if done correctly, the rest not so much. If there are any inaccuracies with the swabs, its because the tester did not swab an area in the nose or throat that had virus present. In other words you are far more likely to have a false negative than a false positive. From CDC A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold Antibody testing is done from a blood sample not a swab. The post above it about obtaining a good nasopharyngeal swab is spot on. |
