I've looked at ICU beds, hospital bed numbers, the amount of testing ..... [link to ww11.doh.state.fl.us] Here is a link to one of the detail reports and on that report it states how the positive tests are calculated ------- These counts include the number of people for whom the department received PCR or antigen laboratory results by day. People tested on multiple days will be included for each day a new result was received. A person is only counted once for each day they are tested, regardless of whether multiple specimens are tested or multiple results are received. If a person has a positive specimen and a negative specimen in the same day, only the positive result is counted.----- By the language in the detailed report it looks like we are including antigen testing as well as people doing multiple test throughout the week. All of this inflates the positive numbers. The majority of people that are testing positive is the younger generation. They usually are in the hospital 1 to 3 days and usually don't need an ICU bed. If they do need an ICU bed it is usually only 3 to 5 days. This counties are next to bigger counties than have more ICU beds. Right now, we have ICU that are below normal number admittance and a few that have a higher number of admittance. This numbers do fluctuate throughout the day, but we are not getting our ass handed to us. In fact, we have the ability to increase the ICU beds for more Covid people. |

There's just more people getting tested. These are the same people who 2 months ago would've tested positive. They are just now getting tested. That's all.
