Again, the Federal Government only posts guidelines. The states do not have to follow them. I don't see what's so difficult to understand about that. The Federal Government couldn't possibly have "shredded your sovereignty" in this case because the Federal Government has zero power to force a state to do anything unless Martial Law has been declared - which it hasn't.

The Federal Government (NIAID) came up with the phased shutdown/reopening guidelines, and social distancing measures. However, I don't believe there was any expectation that states would go straight to full lockdown. The idea was to ramp up and down the safety measures as necessary to manage infection in vulnerable populations, NOT to forcibly close the entire economy and lock entire states of people in their homes for months at a time.

Since you brought Obama into it, I suppose it's your position that Obama did a better job by simply ignoring SARS for 8 months?

While an opinion piece, I wish to point out that its author, Tim Morrisson, was the Senior Director for Counterproliferation and Biodefense on the National Security Council - the exact unit that was formed from the three White House Directorates, one of which contained the Pandemic Response Team, that were merged into a single directorate as part of a wider streamlining of operations within the National Security Council.

Since, that's the guy who actually ran the directorate all the Liberals are hysterical about having supposedly been shutdown, I suspect he actually knows WTF he's talking about.
