I'm hearing other high profile twitter accounts were hacked as well. I'm seeing other blue checkmarks trying to claim it's real and that they received money back, they're likely hacked bots helping pump up the scam.

It's been going on non-stop, but until now it's been fake bot accounts set up to look like Musk's account. Some were even hacked blue checkmark "verified" accounts, and amazingly twitter didn't demand re-verification before changing the screen name. Now they've stepped up to hacking major accounts like Elon Musk and Bill Gates.
