so this puts him over 100 billion dollar net worth... and hes 90 years old and doesnt spend money crazily even like a millionaire would... = his kids and their kids, and their kids kids, and their kids kids kids will be MEGA wealthy. maybe ill be reincarnated by then.

He and Gates are donating their wealth...making money is a game to them, and to me but not on their level lol
 Quoting: BRIEF

why don't you say that this "donating" money is just another way of tax relief, evasion?

the more he gives, the more returns he'll get on taxes

when you and the rest of the elites will give away 99% of their wealth like Carnegie did 100 years ago, i'll take you seriously, until then GTFO
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78915790

It's legal and it benefits charities...instead of giving the government money he gives it to a charity...how is that a bad thing?

Buffet actually has been terrible in his positions the last 5 years or so, do the research. He's just very wealthy.

Warren Buffett been asking to be taxed more.

Yet for years the legislative branch has not been able, but they passed tax cuts instead

I'm all for capitalism and by no means an advocate for socialism ... but this headline makes me want to puke:

Warren Buffett reaps $40 billion from giant Apple stake since March bottom

[link to www.cnbc.com (secure)]

With so many suffering financially at the moment due to COVID-19 ... the fact that one man can reap $40 billion in a rigged financial market is crime against humanity.

The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer is an absolute fact. The system is rigged for the rich to keep their wealth increasing because as brief mentioned, they make better decisions. and know how to grow their wealth, especially using the Time Value of Money (TVM). No secret just got to be willing to learn and use the current system to leverage your assets for wealth creation. hf

I had to scrape every dollar yesterday to pay my $1,473 tax due to the IRS. Just not right...

I remember when I was a kid I would always hear things on the news, economists and various others warning about the impending rise to power of the billionaires. At the the time most people could only imagine a millionaire. I think there were only one or two actual Billionaires that even existed, there weren't many anyway. The warning effectively said, if billionaires become a common thing they'll cause chaos around the world as they use their wealth to manipulate financial markets, entertainment, education, religion and every other facet of human life. They will be completely uncontrollable and after that era will come the trillionaires. They will own the world.

Many balked at the time, I never hear anyone doing that anymore. How much does it cost to get someone to sell out their country and everything they believe in? To start a riot and get thousands injured, robbed, raped or murdered? Businesses and communities burned to the ground? To get a politician to destroy an economy and leave countless people without a job, a home or even food for their family? To get a cop to kill? Not much. I've seen some cases where politicians were bribed for anything from thousands of dollars to a few million and the repercussions of what they did affected the lives of tens of thousands. People sell out cheap.

Read one of Warren Buffet's books...he began investing with just $100
 Quoting: BRIEF

Yeah but he started investing before the entire system was rigged.

Now it’s only the very rich who can work the rigged system to their advantage like Buffett has done these past few months ... no ordinary person could do this ... it’s sickening and I liken it to crimes against humanity.

My investments are meager because my income is meager ... and COVID-19 has made things considerably worse ... except for folks like Buffett.

Really?

Cus if you invested 5k in Apple after the crash or Boeing

Or tons of companies you already would've killed it

If you put 5 or 10 k in Tesla, you would have walked out with a house
