Sometimes when I walk up to my airconditioner it is playing music

I have the same thing. I only hear it when working outside when I get close to it it stops. Figured it was a perception thing with my ears or something

WOW!!! I didn't know so many others hear it. It is present to me almost all the time. Once when a pain management doc prescribed nuerontine {sp} for my constant neck pain, before surgery, I was at work one day and my co-workers were baffled by my constant commenting "who stopped the music" that was when I figgured out I have choir music on a constant loop. It is truly a wonderful sound that plays.

It also causes the ear ringing so many have issues with. I'm sitting here listening to the screams in my aluminum box in the middle of floriduh.

The ear thing has become more prominent lately. Feels like you’re getting a magnetic pressure injection to the brain rather than a ringing.

I've noticed this as well. Looks like it might be Apophenia, which is an audio version of Pareidolia, where our brains make inanimate things look like human faces.

I had a 2kW portable electric fire some years ago and that played music too when switched on.

The music was very noticeable within the room and it didn't make a difference if you moved it to another part of the room.

One night I kept hearing somone whispereing my name.It was the dishwasher.

Something strange is happening to me too the past few days.

It might be some type of bird because I hear a mocking bird next to my window when it occurs. I believe a bird is communicating with another bird.

Strange part is that the sound received is a very strong pulse that I hear in my left ear. Very short intense pulse that is slightly painful. My window AC is to my right and I have a wall to my left. I believe the sound is amplified by the left wall.

Does anyone know of a bird that produces very sharp intense chirps?

It's not radio coming from the AC unit. Its something only you can hear.

you can take any electric motor and with a piece of iron in the middle, you move the iron within the coil to change the frequency the coil resonates at.

I'm an audiologist and I have people tell me every once in while they hear music playing in their head. Sometimes full songs of all different kinds of music. It usually happens after the person has had a brain injury like a stroke and head injury and are typically older adults. MRI scans etc never find anything wrong (of course) and we just define it as an "auditory event" triggered in the brain.

It's happened to me for years, always when I'm sleep deprived. Any constant background noise will self-compose into a really cool song. I wish I knew how to write music so I could write them down.

- A radio transmitter powerful or close enough can some times bleed over into hearing it in appliances.

- Some machine noises our brain tries to process and mistakenly processes it as music or voices when someone is overly tired or stressed.

(same thing with our eyes. We do not see our blind spot since our brain fills in the information what it thinks should be there from past eye movements)

- A side effect of various mental illnesses.

I also hear sometimes very nice music while water is running, and that sound from water is almost angelic, but sound from metal fans is similar to music and talk from radio.

Unless they had these technologies in the 60s I'm not so sure that would explain it.

I think you mean he is saying they think they actually are hearing it as opposed to just having a song playing in their head.

Who can't get that song playing out of your head sometimes. (clearly not hearing it though, rather thinking it)
