Viruses can only exist in a host. Human beings are filled with viruses, always have been, always will be. They cannot be eradicated, they are part of the human condition.

They serve a dual purpose for the host- for healthy organisms they serve as a means of activating the immune system which is able to develop antigens that further protect us from pathogenic infections.

The secondary purpose- now get ready because this seems to send snowflakes off the edge- is to eliminate the elderly, the weak, and the sick from the population.
