Quick Question, Where Did All The Coins Go?

In fiscal year 2010, each cent cost 1.79 cents to produce and ship.

No coin shortage in Minnesota. Everybody still accepting cash & giving change.

this is all on elon.
this is why coin operations are being sold off.the card upgrade is too expensive for most.
how do you protect a card reader at a car wash?
a laundrymat?
lots of automation upgrades are coming and it aint gonna be cheap.

I have been in the hospital for a couple of weeks and just got released today only to find signs everywhere I go stating, "no cash due to coin shortage". I live in Washington.

I was reading that they release into the wild the same amount they safely destroy (the ones that no longer can be circulated)

So... if The Mint is not working at 100% capacity due to COVID then they would be destroying the same amount they can re-supply... Right?

Not where I have been. I first went to the shop within the hospital for a soda and it said no cash at all accepted. Then I went to pick up lunch and same thing happened.

Here on Long Island I've seen signs of "exactly change only if at all possible"

But then again, most people around here use plastic. When I went to pay with cash at a store the other day the cashier had to unroll all her change (maybe change of shift or maybe nobody used cash until me)

Cash is what feeds drug cartels, all drug dealing, the opioid crisis, all sex traffic, most tax evasions, all illegal activity.

Mostly they are sitting in jars at home. The ones in circulation likely have corona all over them.

They're all at my house.
