Some F-35 suppliers are having trouble delivering parts on schedule, and Turkey’s departure could make that worse as Turkish defense manufacturers are pushed out of the program, the Government Accountability Office said in a May 12 report.
The number of parts shortages per month climbed from 875 in July 2018 to more than 8,000 in July 2019. More than 60 percent of that sum was concentrated among 20 suppliers, it said.
