Do you work in the corporate world? A 7.65% raise is probably double the average increase. I worked for one company with record profits year after year and they'd do a 3.5% increase every OTHER year, so yeah, 7.65% in one shot is pretty damn good. Quoting: Festus Hoggbottom It's not a raise. It's a 7.65% interest free loan that you will have to pay back. I was curious as to how you loathesome Liberal half-wits would spin this as negative. Now I know. So how is Trumpstein going to pay the governments debt to social security recipients? So, all the SS pilfering by Democrats over the past 3 decades is now Trump's doing too, huh? I'll bet you loved this idea when Black Jesus did it a few years back, didn't you? I did it. I did it on purpose. And I'll do it again. |

You could cut taxes to zero and it wouldn't give anyone one cent in wage increase. I've gotten a lot of red for telling the truth and being right. Just sayin' |

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Sunday that the payroll tax deferment in President Trump's executive order will give millions of employed Americans "a gigantic wage increase." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29910105 "There are roughly 140 million people who are working. There are roughly 15 million or 16 million unemployed. The unemployed is too high. There's a lot of heartbreak there. That's why we want to help them with the unemployment assistance," Kudlow said on ABC's "This Week." "But the 140 million some odd, they're going to get a gigantic wage increase, probably $1,200 between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31. And, again, we'd like to — we will do everything we can to forgive those loans. So I think that's an incentive to work for those who are heroes during the pandemic, and also for the unemployed, it gives them an incentive to come back to work so we can offset some of the excesses of unemployment assistance." Note: The payroll tax deferral puts 7% more in your paycheck and you still owe the tax. It's basically an interest free loan. [link to thehill.com (secure)] 7% is a significant raise, even if it is for half a year. That's at least a couple of hundred extra dollars a month for full time lower wage workers. The company I work for announced a wage increase cut for the first time since 2008 (typically 3% raise per year). This payroll tax freeze will be like 2 raises! |

It's a DEFERRAL... read the bill. If Congress doesn't forgive the payroll tax cut then everyone that got it will have to repay it. Read and understand the damn Executive Order. Also, it's only for under 100K in wages... Also the EO cites part A of the tax, not A and B. Part A of the Payroll Tax is 6%. Bottom line is it's $60 - $75 per $1000 earned that will most likely have to be repaid. Basically not many businesses will do it. Being self employed I get the luxury of paying all 15% of the payroll tax. I will be paying my normal amounts. If the cut does go into effect and IF IF IF Congress agrees to forgive the taxes normally owed, then I'll just get it back as a refund on my 2020 taxes. His unemployment boost of $300 has enough money for 5 weeks based on the source of funding in his Executive Order. At best I'd say by the time it gets rolled out (if ever) people will essentially get a one time $1500 payment and that will be about it. It's a new system the states will have to set up. All these executive orders have done was give the Democrats even more leverage. The Executive orders are already falling apart, most States have said they're not going to do the $100 boost from their end as they claim they don't have the money (they don't have the power of the money printer). The eviction ban EO is a disaster of a mess and doesn't really help anyone if you actually read what has to happen to qualify... the CDC and HHS has to determine your area is "hard hit" by COVID to qualify. Has nothing to do with poor economic conditions. Mnuchin and Wallace didn't have to negotiate with the Dems on a stimulus package because they had the Trump EOs in their back pocket... and now that it's becoming pretty clear those EOs are just slightly better than useless, Mnuchin already said today that he and the White House would be willing to agree on more than they originally demanded. Remember, if the EOs fail and there's no stimulus, it will be those in power held responsible... and right now the GOP holds the Senate and the POTUS. My bet is we see a $2 trillion deal by the end of this week to mid next week, signed sealed and delivered on the 22nd with $1200 stim checks going out immediately and $500 boost to unemployment, retroactive to August 1, through the end of the year utilizing the same PUA system the States already have set up. the voter ID and signature requirement ban will get tossed out and so will Trump's FBI building. The Dems already said they'd agree to a 2 trillion bill, the GOP balked because they had a second option with the executive orders. Now that those orders are proving to be useless, the GOP will come back and agree to a 2 trillion deal. Watch. RAGE |
