I went to have my car serviced. No one had a mask on, none of the workers & none of the customers. There was an older guy who was talking to a younger guy & when the older guy left he said (regarding the masks) something like "I fought for freedom, ain't no body making me wear a mask".

It is common sense.
Put a barrier in between a pipe, airflow will be restricted.
Restricted airflow is usually not healthy. Especially if you do that all day long. Long term It certainly will lead to issues for a lot of people.

Put some woolen piece of cloth informer of your mouth while breathing, it will get soaked up with bad air, CO2, bacteria, fungus and viruses.

You will breath in that shit while wearing a mask. CO2 will reach critical (way above 3000ppm) Levels in a minute.

The CO2 thing is a problem especially for children and the elderly As they have a shorter breath and effect of CO2 enrichment is stronger even behind surgical masks.

DIY Masks made out of wool or thick cloths are next, they soak up CO2 like a sponge.

Restricting airflow doesn’t change the amount of oxygen it contains.
