Anonymous Coward User ID: 79228586 United States 08/13/2020 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just picked up a new camper. It has so many problems. This is my second new camper. It's a 2021 45K 36ft travel trailer, my previsous one was a 2018 25k 26ft travel trailer. Quoting: METELLYOUNOW 2021 Camper problems first two weeks out: Leaking drain bathroom sink. (had to glue it myself) Slides not adjusted proper. (Scratching things up) Cabinets doors not aligned right. (Won't close) Toilet water feed was leaking. (Fixed) Motorized stabilizers wired wrong. Awning not aligned right. Awning fabric is delaminating down the middle. Debris under the flooring causing bubbles. Cuts in flooring Loose Screw in one of the holding tanks. Cable/Sat wiring is wrong/broken. Both entry doors will barely latch. 2018 Camper problems 2.5 years of ownership: Awing was misaligned and caused the fabric to stretch out and look floppy when extended. It was still completely usable when I traded it in. Furnace had a recall during the second year. They broke the furnace applying the recall fix. Took the camper back, and they fixed it. NO charge for either fix. Yeah, nothing today is built with pride. Just built for greed. |

That being said all of the companies that manufacture RV's are raking in tons of money. Campers are sold out everywhere. They're stock prices are soaring. Problem with this big up tick for them is that they're going to loose their asses on warranty repairs. The next couple quarters should look good for them, but then the pain will come when they miss earning reports by a mile. |

Shit happens, I'm not trying to bitch, just passing the word along. 2021 is going to be an exceptionally bad year for manufacturing quality. |

Most of these campers built today will probably completely junk in 15 years. |

We could have perma-culture gardens/orchards and chicken coops in every yard. Help build our children houses when they are still young. Things would be less about money when you have no one to pay. These leeches in office/worthless jobs need to go, the pyramid is getting too heavy on top. Then we when go work for a corporation that produces luxuries it will be more about quality then profit. When men are dependent on money and a job they become vulnerable to corruption to make their wife happy and keep their kids safe. |

My work takes me all over the state. My lady and the kids camp, while I'm working. It's also a tax right off. It would be a pain in the ass to work out of a tent. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79262474 on utube I follow people who live on 4+ wheels. the largest I would go would be a contractor type van and remodel it myself. Follow same channels Learn from others Always a good thing I'm getting my suv ready to live in just in case it all goes south. for anyone out there the biggest tip I can give you is to take out the back seat and install plywood. |

I’ve considered selling the house and being a road warrior so many times But there’s a stigmata with it Only reason I didn’t jump I don’t want to be questioned ,or harassed Plus no legal weapons aloud That’s total bullshit |

I have a few good tips too: Spend some time scouting places. Don't take any gps devices with you when you scout. Find places to walk/drive to. Figure out something in each direction of the compass. Go a little further every time. Find alternate routes and practice packing/setting up. If you have kids hike them at night with a load. Teach them to be silent. Hike till you pass out/throw up, not knowing what you truly are capable of could put you in a pickle if it causes you or your loved ones to panic. |
