San Diego was paradise on earth--50 years ago. It is my home town. I would demand a huge payment to live there anymore. It is just another concrete jungle with over crowed recreation areas--all in close proximity to the border area oozing drugs and murdering pimps--no thank you.

We were stationed in Germany in the 70's. Families of the military members would receive notices to leave for the USA at any given moment.

i have another friend who lives there and loves it but he is a liberal . lol . a know a older couple who goes out there for trips who use to live there 30 years ago . he said he would never ever ever live there again but it’s nice to visit

When we were in the Netherlands in the late 80's early 90's, the base was forever having recalls right after colors. No cell phones then. My husband would have to turn right around and drive back to the base.

They did a NEO exercise once. I wanted to bring our kids, the kids I would escort and our dog, but they wouldn't let me! Told the Captain, after a 2 hour bus ride, it would be very realistic! He said, Uh, NO!

I lived in Ramona California just outside of San Diego back in the 1970s it was great back then but I guess that's shit now

They had that way back since March, for all branches. No travel at all, not even PCS moves. They did ease it up a bit for a point but it depended on community spread.

For marines it could be, but sounds like they want everyone near the base for recall.

San Diego of the late eighties and early nineties was great! Perfect amount of people, most people were nice no matter where you were. A different world entirely.

My grandson is over sea`s at some base is going to be deployed on some ship soon. He graduated from mcrd last yr. We went to see his graduation. We had a great time out there. A lot more bleachers there now. Just a few when I was there 1980.

not really anything. a normal 96 is 600 miles, i think 80 was on weekends. either way thanks for telling everyone about his military intel.
