I am so sorry for your loss, truly heartbreaking. I am confused about the autopsy though. I was under the impression the next of kin can request an autopsy? I am not sure about the financial responsibility of that though. Best wishes for you and your family.  We can request the autopsy, was we were quoted at 10k from the county med examiner. They won’t do one because he didn’t die under suspicious circumstances they said. I guess “unexplained” death is not suspicious to them. It’s bewildering It would cost that much to get the autopsy? That's insane. You would think because he was so young they would want the autopsy because it's not typical. I'm sorry for your loss.
