From the looks and sounds of things so far, OP, these two storms will merge over East to North Texas. When I was praying to God Himself and wishing for alot of rain and storms to impact North Texas this is not what I had in mind.

All along the Texas and Louisiana coast there are ports and refineries.
Dow chemical, and BASF are just a couple of the bigger companies located there.
This entire area is swampland. Louisiana we know is a swamp, but many people don't know that coastal Texas in that area is rice land.
I expect damage to crops and silos. Damage will certainly be reported on the refineries and the Houston ship channel.

Wasnt it hurricane harvy that formed late and stalled over houston? That was a huge mess. This could be like that storm on roids..

i wonder if that kind of thing has happened. im betting one day we will see one of these hurricanes push all the way inland before it dissipates - like clear into the midwest with full strength.

I’m in Houston area. We survived Harvey just a few years ago with 50 inches of rain dropped in 48 hour period. This is strong summer shower to us. I’m just worried about The unknowns of September. Maybe God is using these small storms to wake us up and prepare for what is coming.

I'd take the Marco/Laura systems serious.

Marco will be a nasty, narrow right hook to Galveston/Houston and then a day later Laura delivers a crisp, broad uppercut to Louisiana that rocks G/H a second time.

I'm not sure if i posted that yt link correctly, but it is about 750,000 GMO mosquitos being approved for release in Florida. Oxitec is the company that typically handles this.
Texas is usually a target site fur these mosquitoes too.
I'm not convinced that these critters are at all effective.
If you've ever lived through a hurricane or tropical storm...afterward it's very still and humid. The mosquitos get ferocious!!! Not to mention that they are vectors for some pretty nasty diseases.
