Some Uncle intel.. it's possible due to the fire and not rolling blackouts that 3,000,000 in San Diego will lose power tonight.

That would pretty much be all of San Diego.

Yeah definitely wouldn't mind the mini ice age. Can always put more clothes on to stay warm but can only take so much off to keep cool.

Especially without electricity.

And while it takes a lot to cause for those electrical towers to buckle , sustained flames and being so hot as it is , definitely is at risk. The hubs and relay stations nearby at ground level most certainly too.

Think that will include SDG&E customers too? I thought it was a smaller provider that was threatened.

It was someone on HAM that mentioned it, but they have had other intel also, so not sure!! I didn't think we had any other providers here.

We've had no power since 1pm, can't even run a fan. Still out at 1am.

Saw the red sun and have ash in our backyard too, even so many miles away

At least the rolling blackouts only would be 60 minutes, but 12+ hours, that is horrible.

We have small wood chunks, burnt leaves and event whole semi burnt leaves, havent seen any light gray ash, but I think the gray ash being so light goes much farther.

First and foremost thank you for keeping us up to date.I have family in Lakeside which I believe is northeast of where you are. They lost everything in the Cedar fire and have mostly rebuilt.

In my last contact with them yesterday the main point of concern is the Santa Ana winds. It is my understanding that Santa Ana winds typically blow from east to west. Is that correct? They said that the Santa Ana winds is what did them in during the Cedar fire.

Now I can't reach them and I'm wondering if they are preparing to evacuate. I'm going nuts with worry.

Is the Santa Ana prediction for tomorrow pretty certain? I'm sure my family members are aware of it. I just wish I could reach them.
