My daughter's pediatrician asked me if we have a gun

I had to take my 9 year old to the doctor today for a well visit. The nurse led us to our exam room, took her vitals, and asked me a few questions as per usual.

But today, one of the questions that the nurse asked me was if we have any guns in our home.

They have never asked me that before. I have 3 children who all go to this doctor and not once did they ever ask me if we had a gun.

Of course I told her no, even though everything we have is legal with proper paperwork and safely stored.

It's none of their business if I own a a gun! Plus rule #1 of prep/survival is to keep your shit a secret!

I have a right to be able to protect my children and as a single mother (i live with my 65 year old parents and my kids) owning a gun is necessary. No one is going to make me feel bad for having the ability to defend my family.

I just thought it was very odd. Why the hell would they ask me that? What do they do with that information? What does it have to do with my daughter's health?

I just wanted to share because I think you guys would find it odd too and maybe we can discuss it.

with kids you have to, and there's no harm in tracking their growth. My daughter can't talk so a wellness check once a year to make sure she's ok is really no big deal and actually important bc she can't tell me if there's something wrong.

nonverbal autism... gotta avoid ALL glutamate containing foods. ESPECIALLY all breads and wheat containing "malted barley". also it's best to avoid eating too much meat.
