By writing this into law, it provides a double-edged sword.

1. Those who are already scared will become even more browbeaten,

2. Those who dare go against the law can be fined - which of course, not many people can pay - and non-payment can result in jail term.

In other words, the stratospheric leap from a fine of one thousand up to ten thousand enables greater control over the population.

This is just the beginning. I foresee more laws simply designed to detain the citizenry. They're detaining people in Australia simply over Facebook posts, for God's sake. The UK knows that won't swim over here. So they take a more insidious route, hiding the real plan behind Dickensian rhetoric and red tape.

I've been working five months solid, 60 hours a week, since this began. I would love to catch this shitty disease that's so terrible people are dropping dead in the street, just to have 2 weeks off. But I will only get SSP, which is a fifth of my working wage, with no help from the government.
