Honestly some past presidents would have brought in troops (local governments could like it or not), with the possibility of civil war.

Every one of these cities and their respective police departments has shown gross dereliction of duty.

But think about where this will go.

Year 2025 and the dollar is in collapse and there is turmoil everywhere. The Federal Government has implement a new law called the firearms safety act due to widespread criminal violence (USAFSA bill temporary of course you'll get you rights back some day RIGHT) This includes a certain amount of voluntary turn in and confiscation.

But your local right wing city resists, but wait, precedent was set in 2020 that all your federal money can be withheld. And they do withhold it. Your small little city can no longer pay for roads, water treatment, or much of anything. If you know how cities are budgeted the lions share of stuff is run on federal grants and loans etc.

What do you think you local politicians will do? You think they are going to be blamed for letting the local water plant go under and getting hit with the same charge of dereliction that kicked this off in the first place? Hell no. They'll have the cops stepping on your neck so fast you won't know what hit you.
