TXP is correctly cynical about (and disgusted with?) the mindset of a good portion (the majority?) of the leftwing electorate. That bunch also includes a variety of McCain/Romney/Ryan/Kasich-type non-liberals (if not outright closeted liberals), so it's not made up of just purely hard-left or ultra-liberal people.

But a cynicism about the left in general makes sense. An awareness of the typical liberal allows for an understanding about why various forms of corruption run rampant when a society becomes too liberal or leftwing.

Yea, there are slimeball, crooked conservatives and honest, honorable liberals. But all things being equal, something about left-leaning biases make for a good breeding ground of corruption. Corruption that triggers flat-out meanness, hypocrisy, contradictions and double-standards too.
