The Semi tire on the other side of the medium ( going the opposite direction ) went kapowee (sounded like a shotgun blast) and I did feel it also ... User ID: 59962224 Canada10/16/2020 05:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | speaking of nuking tires I was riding my bike on a major highway of my city when a b-train transport came on from an entrance on ramp just ahead of where I was on the road I could hear the thumping and see sparks I caught up because he wasn't at highway speed yet and then I saw the tire that was starting to de-laminate it was probably missing an 8 - 12inch chunk of tread and the steel belts were hitting the pavement and sparking I raced up beside the cab and got the attention of the driver screamed ya got a flat on the trailer he pulled over and when I was coming back the other way an hour later he was still at the side of the road waiting for a tire change that could have been scary  oh hai! |

I had a tire blow on my Sprinter while I was sitting in traffic, it lifted the whole front end off the ground! People came running from every direction to see what happened. Amazingly, there was no damage at all, other than the tire. |

Rim blew up into his face and took a chunk out of the concrete ceiling above. His safety glasses actually saved his life but he suffered brain damage and was never the same. Really sad, but a reminder to not trust you life to what you think someone else already taken care of. |

But despite all this nearly all serious accidents are caused by people doing stupid things. Actual mechanical failure might hurt/kill a few but it is a very few compared. |
