I can't believe it since I've actually been doing online shopping there since the VIRUS, but it's been forecasted in several publications that it's overhead can't compete with Amazon - for example.

They scrapped JET after buying it for $3.3B.
Just look it up.
Watch your stocks.

Seems unlikely to me, but that's the chatter.

True, they do have terrible customer service, which may be one of the reasons why they're saying this.
You get much better service online in my experience.

Wal-mart has been dying a slow death for years. The rot comes from with-in. Just ask former, "associates".

they have been my go to for dog food, but it's true, it's not a great experience to go there.
Just heard from a couple of people recently, that it's not looking too good for them in the future - like Kmart, Sears, JC Penney.

There was an announcement of mass store closures in Jan. 2016.
Ever year after they have been closing under performing stores throughout the year under the radar aka just locally announced.

Yes, rumors are circulating that more store closures are on the horizon for 2021. This year alone Walmart stores continued to closed stores under radar, massive layoffs, store restructuring, Walmart sold Vudu to Fandango, and just recently sold its businesses in Argentina.

They will never beat Amazon. Their model of counting on lower income to shop their stores is failing. “CEO Doug McMillon said on a call with investors that the company saw less of a boost from government stimulus than it did earlier this year, when US same-store sales grew 9.5% in the second quarter. Managing director of GlobalData, Neil Saunders, zeroed in on this downtick as evidence that Walmart is losing lower-income and unemployed shoppers in a note on Tuesday. Walmart CEO has been urging Congress to pass stimulus package as experts worry about permanent economic damage.”

EVEN AMAZON'S BUSINESS MODEL IS UNSUSTAINABLE

The list of bankrupt retailers who sell cheap China slave goods gets longer every day. Slave produced goods are cursed.

Wal-mart sucks, it always sucked, and it is karma to see it being killed by its own customers going elsewhere.

Wal-Mart deliberately killed smaller competitors and retailers by their millions.

No sympathy that they are being devoured by a bigger monster, even if that bigger monster is also devouring every other small business out there.

Greg Foran who was chief executive US Walmarts wanted a slower rollout of e-commerce/online grocery and clashed with Marc Lore (Jet.com) who didn’t. Stores are now falling apart because e-commerce and online should be a separate entity/warehouse from stores. There’s a huge push for e-commerce and online to be a priority in stores more so then ever with Covid. That huge push though is hurting day to day store operations creating a huge burnout among associates and managers alike. There’s an issue when you have Walmart associates that don’t even want to shop Walmart anymore in-store and online.
