you supposedly bought rights the moment you ever pay for a movie.
most movies are defective by the 40 year mark and arent "original".sound distorted,picture quality old.
lastly,once you have those rights.they dont go away.
how many dvds and vhs have we lost over the years to overuse?
they owe it to us,in my humble opinion.
