I can't stand baking...lol...anyhow...breakfast sausages and thin french fries tonight. Didn't feel 'fancy' at all. But tomorrow...the 'hamburger helper' style casserole is on the menu.

I'm not upset, but when it happens on a special day, it is ironic.

We had a good meal and Woody reminded Brandon he was here because of this day. That's why he wanted to come over.

Ribeye, air fried baked taters. Mushrooms, and butt rolls.

All 3 steaks were perfectly even my meat thermometer broke right in the middle of frying them.

My cancer diet starts tomorrow so I've chosen dippy eggs to go with the rest of last night's rolls and taters. I think I even have ham lunch meat. If so, I'm gonna w ear that, too.

I swear it feels like a prisoners last meal. I know, a little dramatic.

I wouldn't call it dramatic to say that. It's hard to do an extreme diet change. The good news is that you know you can do it, because you have before. :)

True and I keep telling myself that it's only the 10 days, not the 2.5 week one before an actual treatment.

This will be my 4th time, I think. it just takes planning. I hate that everything is special is expensive. Example - chili powder. The only one I found I can have is Walmart organic I think. It's over $4 when I'm use to buying the dollar bottle. Or coconut milk which is $5 for a quart.

I made a huge plate of leftovers plus eggs and I'm not ashamed to say I ate it all! I'll have some oreos later.

Best of luck Para! I'm not sure if I should post meals..I don't want to make you feel left out. Are the restrictions the usual pre- PET scan or do you have to take into consideration the renal issues as well? Because whew, that would be tough!

Let us know the best way to support you! For what it's worth, my mom found a lump in her chest 5 years after radical mastectomy/radiation/chemo and her pet scan and xrays showed despite the 'mass' also present in her lung, both were scarring from previous cancer treatments and not cancer. Fingers crossed you get similar news!!

Much much love from all of us here

Oh no! Post away! I'm glad that you guys don't have anything like it

Actually I've been giving in some natural foods lately, still nothing processed that has the fake phosphates.

In some ways, the pre scan fist is stricter. No dairy or eggs at all. At least now I have my bread maker so I can at least have that because I use plain non iodized salt.

It's just been stressful between both diets and I've got babies iny fish tank that are MIA and I think my biggest snail is the dying. He was trying to hold on underneath a rock but he doesn't have the strength to pull himself up. So Woody shoved a shell under him to help hold him up.

All I can do is watch him and pull him if it looks like he's being chewed on. I know that nature and all. My son tells me. Mom it's a snail. But I feel like it was a creature under my care. I will keep him in hospice if needed. I refuse to let him be picked at while he's still slive.

These are the blueberry muffins I made. I put so many blueberries, it made 18 instead of 12. cool2
Blueberries is high on my list. They're flat because I used applesauce instead of eggs, coconut oil, and coconut milk. They're freezing on a rack and then I'll put them on a freezer bag so I can take one out easy enough if I'm starving.

https://imgur.com/a/Gnga6bg

I cooked hamburger meat today. We're going to make meatballs but realized my old bread had the iodized salt so that'll be for another day when I can make my own bread crumbs.

I making some basmati rice to fry up with some corn and black beans and hamburger crumbles.

Nef's sister and her husband from Mississippi were in Boston for business today. We met them for dinner. It was really nice to see them again. :)

I'm pretty open to "I'll try anything at least once" when it comes to food. But oysters were the exception to that rule. I never, ever planned to try an oyster. Ewww lol.

Well, tonight I tried an oyster. Not bad. Very fresh and 'clean' tasting. That being said, I likely won't ever eat them again if I have to pay to eat them haha! I'd rather have some wings. ;)

While making dinner, I'm also making granola so I have another go to snack. I got early this morning for woody doc appt, so I was hungry. I was good an ate an apple.

I think this is the one I used before. I learned not to stir it. You just turn the pan around in the middle. At least in my oven, it doesn't Brown evenly.

Air fried chicken, Rice, squash with some nutritional yeast on it. It doesn't taste bad, but sure doesn't have cheese flavor.
It does however almost like parmesan at a casual glance. The power of the mind ,or maybe last of?) has gotten me thru many times. I just have too many things on my mind.

Today was the first day I was very Active here as I decided I needed to know more the Bridge. I still haven't read them. Anyhow, I've been staying Away from the front page. Every once in a while. I need to borrow those rose colored glasses that my daughter wears.

Yeah I know what you mean-I rarely look at the main page, found out about the bridge from the prayer thread. But I’ve really limited my time here bc it can be at times one of the most depressing places in every way possible.

Your thread is mouth watering and a great place for food inspiration when I find myself in a rut(often)

Pizza sounds good. I think later in the week , I'm going to make pizza on my bread. This diet is so much easier that I can make my own bread.

One nice thing about being retired is I have NO SCHEDULE!!!

Breakfast is 14:00

Lunch is never

Dinner was salad at 23:15 and will be pizza at 0:50

Mrs. is in the hospital until at least Friday. She will eat nothing I cook and I eat nothing she cooks so I have two more days of unguilty meals.

It's not a hate thing, we just have extremely different food tastes. I don't like it one bit but I've suffered thirty years of this. It would have been a 'deal breaker' had I known three decades ago as it really sucks to need to make two separate meals each time either of us cooks.

I waste nothing, she eats one-quarter cup of a box of macaroni, the rest goes in the trash as I will not touch the stuff. I get three full meals from a single pizza with salad. She won't touch it.

Culinary life sucks in my home. But I'm about to cook one-third of a pizza for my dinner so I really don't care as she is not here to denigrate my meal.

'Gotta go turn the oven on...

Have you tried Home Run frozen pizza? My God, it's fabulous. I never thought I would recommend a frozen pizza, but it's as good as the best pizza joint you'll ever find. One pizza will serve about 4 to five meals for me, it's that thick and delicious.

[link to www.homeruninnpizza.com (secure)]

ETA: Just to clarify, it's thick with ingredients and not just crust. You rarely find that.
