I'm so sorry about your friend's dad. That is why I am determined to take care of it myself and not go to a hospital or doctor. I did ask my doctor what he gave for covid, and he told me "nothing". Several months ago I argued with a VA doctor about giving Nothing to covid patients. I have no idea if they still do the same.
The problem seems to be that covid and treatments have been politicized.

next day maybe Lycopene, Astaxanthin, NAC and Tumeric
Selenium, Vitamin C, whey protein and Purple Corn etc...

Supplement daily for a month, supplement every other day, then no antioxidants (except maybe vitamin C & D) for a month or two.

It's not good to take too many antioxidants but it can deadly to take none. So I just let some oxidative damage build up then cycle through the range for a couple months to remove the trash and rejuvinate.

Unless you are a trump or a friend of his you don't get the great meds. My husband and I have had the virus for three weeks. He was in the hospital twice. They told me to take cold meds and he got steroids and inhalers. No super meds like the celebrities get.

I had talked with a physician and then got a call from the pharmacy. You do have to pay in advance ($59.95) before the Dr. calls you. The pharmacy called the following day and I had it overnighted since I needed the medication. The pharmacy is located in Florida. I am in Ohio. I think it's positively evil they will not prescribe anything for the Covid. I am on day 6 and feel tons better. The heaviness is gone from my chest, the cough has lessened and my taste came back yesterday. I still have 4 more days on the pills and then it goes to once a week for HCQ. I did give my kids vitamins called 'airborne' that contained also elderberry which is a helpful little plant... tell her to do some research or do it for her...you only start to feel sick once your body is depleted of certain vitamins due to the virus, if you keep yourself healthy long enough your body will just get rid of the virus. I sincerely hope your nephew recovers... I don't feel scared at all of this virus, I have seen so many diagnose positive and be fine, out of hundreds one died and they were extremely overweight. It really does seem to target people who are unhealthy. If you are unhealthy generally, yes be careful. so, you wake up, put on your mask. the first person you come in contact with has c19. the c19 is transmitted into your mask and prevents the c19 from reaching the contact points (nose,mouth,eyes,etc..) that give you the infection. so now, you are walking around all day with c19 within fractions of an inch from these contact points, breathing heavy, sucking in harder and harder with each breath until the c19 has entered your body. i think i would rather take my chances with one encounter with the c19 as opposed to having it stored in my mask next to my face all day long.

To be honest, it's too late for HCQ and zinc to be of much benefit. Probably ivermectin too. Vitamins and D and C are never a bad idea.

Does your nephew have any diagnosed conditions like diabetes or autoimmune disorders, even psoriasis? Does he take acne medication or any other prescriptions?

And did he get a flu shot this year? I ask because I know a married couple where the wife got sick and tested positive for Covid. She had the usual symptoms minus loss of smell and taste. He also tested positive but never showed symptoms. She had a flu shot this year. He didn't. This happened in early November.
