should be mad as hell by now > Americans are reading less and less news about COVID, done the overreactions by state leaders. They are more concerned about keeping their homes after losing their income because a governor deemed it "non-essential," feeding their families, seeing their loved ones, celebrating the holidays, and above it all, being free.

I have to admit I've been fighting the "don't-give-a-Schitt" attitude with a lot of things.

I drove into the city today and have never seen such road rage and rude, honking vehicles. I had to turn into one of them just to get down the freakin' highway.

I do the same routine.. does not vary much. More people seem to have masks on I noticed. I also notice those with no mask same as myself.. no one says anything.. though older people do yell at non maskers.. the old folks are the most scared and here is something they did this same thing with polio .. my mother and others her age have seen this before. they are totally and completely snowed over. and obedient. they can not fathom an uncle sam that does not give af about them.

I’m quite old, and am appalled by the groveling obedience to diktat that those in my age group exhibit. I know exactly why they’re behaving the way they do: it’s because they are afraid of dying. Well, if you’ve reached 70+ and haven’t made your peace with death long before then, you are in dire straits indeed. You’d think that after so many years on this crummy rock they’d have recognized the misery of existence here and be glad to be closer to leaving it behind every day, but no - they cling too tightly to life, and in doing so become cowards.

I wish people would stop running my fucking business in the ground. If we’d been in any other time I’d be doing great with this business. I’ve worked my whole life for the opportunity to have this business. And they are ruining it not by the lockdowns but by destroying the economy.

Sales were down like a motherfucker across the board and we are in online retail. Black Friday, cyber Monday, the last Saturday before Xmas were all bunk for us. I read that it was shitty for everybody. Didn’t we use to gauge how strong and healthy the economy is by these sales. It was a joke this year.

So, I’m looking for a job again to supplement our income. And so now everybody gets to deal with this thought the rest of their life- that the government has the power to shut down ANYWHERE you work and ANY business you start. What this means is job security and even any semblance of financial security is disappearing. This is even happening to some of the rich business owners.

My wife and I are not rich. Our business makes enough usually to pay the rent on its own. I quit my job in the middle of this pandemic to finally work on the business full time. Well, the election lasts a month+ and people are holding their money close.

It’s just tragic the implications of this. With this new paradigm, you damn sure weren’t harder working than the rest of us or so much better. It was right place right time for part of the formula to your success for you to even have those opportunities. Because those opportunities are disappearing for the lower classes and their children.

I know quite a few rich people. Most are not grateful or satisfied with what they have whatsoever. It’s never enough. The truth is they call it a fortune because you are fortunate to have it. It would be nice if some of these people stepped back and at least in their minds thanked some of the teachers who taught you, friends who helped you, society at large who probably loaned you the money for college; etc.

You are lucky to have lived in a free country. That shit is nearly over. You think people in the third world had our opportunities. You were partly lucky to even be born in a formerly free country.

Rich and successful people kind of create their own luck I get that. I’m positioning myself for that. But it’s fucking luck so be grateful if you are well off and don’t have to worry as much as some of the rest of us.

My brother told me the restaurant in Loma is open as usual. They are not messing their lives up with this bs. an example. I wont make the drive to witness or enjoy, but others do. I bet my brother goes out there alot. I went across country some. It is everywhere. I called for a healing treatment of a massage and they want me to keep a mask on through whole thing. ofc i did not do it. I was just calling places and checking it out oh, if things were normal, what would I like to do right now? I am very upset about that crap. cannot even use a healing hot springs without that crap. This is what a lot of people who don’t own businesses DON’T understand. Not all business owners are rich. Many are “successful” (they have a business that makes money and is worth their time and effort to grow) but not rich. A shit ton of them are middle class. And that’s what my wife and I are- fluctuating between middle class and poor. There are various levels of success with a business. A successful business makes money. Just because it makes money and is not a failure does not mean the owner is rich.

I have loved working from home so much I am trying to change up my career to 100% from home and learning programming/ Java and Powershell, etc.

Can't say I feel lockdown fatigue. I'm in a love affair with my home, my man, my cats. This is good. Financially things could be better but my gears are spinning.

What I can't wait for is Spring so I can get out in the garden and grow more food/herbs/veggies. I want to get out to the gun range and shoot too.

I'm really feeling this. 2021 will be a huge year of change and growth for me. I know it and I'm resting, cleaning, organizing my mind/body/home in preparation. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and bust ass, kick ass, and go in whatever direction I need to.

I simply don't give a fuck anymore. I never wear a mask, and go everywhere with a look on my face that says.... "I'm in different dimension.... proceed at your own risk..." to all these fucking zombies.

I run everyday... and see people walking/running with masks on. It's totally fucking surreal. I wish I was 22 and the year was 1944, early June... I'd storm the beaches of Normandy with a lit cigarette and not a fuck given.

Ha, it’s funny I actually had a pretty good year, considering. It was one of the better years personally and I’m 37. Right now we are fucked but we are always fucked even in a good economy. My wife and I have been out of so many jobs by choice. We keep starting at the bottom. We are serial entrepreneurs- dreamers. We’ve been in total poverty before with literally no hope numerous times. And we can trucking away.

It’s a rollercoaster. But women love drama. She likes to get upset. So sometimes you gotta pay the piper

I think it is the beginning.. no relief in sight but what we find in ourselves. peace and with others.

It is so enjoyable when others are like minded. LOL that would be no one in my immediate circle and all think they know me? How? How would they know me when they never interact with me? No one gaf about others so much. We are a long ways off from anything.

I like the part in the article about curfews. That makes no sense!

Sort of like when Walmart closed the doors on one of side of the store. Social distance but we going to go cram everyone into the same doorway?

None of it makes any sense starting with the effectiveness of any of the measures implemented, in a pandemic? Senseless.
