Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.

I'm just a product of insufficient modality.

Humans of Earth! I have come in peace. You need not fear me. I mean you no harm. However, it may be important to know that most of you will not survive the next 24 hours. And those of you who do survive will be enslaved and experimented on. You should in no way take any of this personally — it's just business!

But the money you use on debit and credit cards isn't buried in your back yard. I know fantasizing about doom and the end of society is nice and all that, but at this very moment you spend paper. That shit has no intrinsic value whatsoever. Debit cards have been around for a long time. No intrinsic value. You've been spending shit with absolutely zero value your whole life. It only had value because the people who run shit said it does. Hence the name "fiat currency". So literally the only difference would be no more paper.

That's probably the thing they are going to crack down on. Self Hosting wallets. Or at least try to. They'll regulate it to the point that you have to use some sort of service to buy sell and trade it, and that service will complete KYC protocols. So while they can't get to your wallet currently, if you ever want to use any of it you're going to have to join a crypto bank. Never believe for one second the banks are giving up power. Just a paradigm shift.

the point of crypto is they have no control over it.

it's like making it illegal to think something. how would they know who's doing it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78946344

how are you going to sell it?

the only reason it has any value is because it stores wealth, like precious metals, except if the only way to transfer bitcoin is through personal exchanges, person to person, than it becomes less of a storing of wealth but more of a burden.

If you have 100 million in bitcoin, how are you going to sell it when you want to if all you can do is through person to person sales?

Also, the price will not be able to be published like it is today, it will be a blackmarket value system and not a one set price as of the time of sale.

They will ban it (dems love banning shit), you will lose all of your savings.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24499233

Learn about the things you want to talk about before talking about it. There are countless ways to get Bitcoin or sell Bitcoin in exchange of national currencies.

Decentralized exchanges, distributed local bitcoin-like platforms, decentralized marketplaces and so on.

Thats good!

I think a lot of the posts here are just trying to say that this is just another market; like precious metals, like ammo, like food, like stocks and bonds, like real estate, like art, like antiques, cars, corn, pokemon cards.

The money is there and its being adopted globally unlike anything aside from precious metals. The utility is there and the volume doesnt lie, i fully expect regulations and the adoption of a global currency loosely based on it.(i hate that idea)

Im not saying blow your whole load on something so volatile, diversification is good. Some form of this is staying, its turning into a global economy. If you know your charts, may the power be with you.

I'm not talking out of my ass. If the government wants to put most of them out of business they will. They aren't going to put them all out of business because they want crypto to happen. Yeah, you might be able to invest in some random coin that becomes part of the underground black market but you still have to use computers and the internet to do any transactions. All of which are tracked. If you think a V.P.N is really hiding you from the government you're fucking stupid. Bitcoin's main problem is the power consumption. No way could bitcoin ever be the main coin people use because it's fucking slow compared to other coins and uses a lot of energy which equals higher costs. If you think some fucking other coin is the one, it could be. I don't fucking know.
